When we're not being kept up at night trying to find the perfect binder or searching the net for clothes that aren't hideously ugly, we are wondering why all deodorant stopped working a couple years ago. Come on, with global warming we all need really good deodorant. In the October issue of Allure magazine, they have a little thing about the new Secret Flawless Antiperspirant/Deodorant that uses Febreze technology. When the odor-eating molecule comes in contact with odor, it replaces it with a scent. That sounds good. Or it sounds like it could cause a painful rash. The testers at Allure liked it and the light, clean powder scent. I had a $5 coupon for Walgreen's so I headed straight for the deodorant section and started sniffing my options.
The Powder scent was at the end of the Flawless row and there were a few choices. I started at the left and never got all the way to the Powder scent because even though I am pretty sure I don't give off the please talk to me vibe, the lady in the cosmetics section at Walgreen's would not stop talking to me. Every time I took the lid off to sniff, she'd ask me if she could help me find something. No, I am just trying to decide which deodorant to get, lady! She wanted to talk about the weather and her ex-husband. I read the names and decided on Completely Clean before cosmetic lady could ask me for help. I didn't smell it until I got home. At first whiff, it smelled refreshing and a bit like a watermelon Jolly Rancher.
The technology works. The sent does last all day and comes in little bursts, just like they claim it does. But, unlike perfume that you spray on in the morning and don't smell ten minutes later even though everyone else does, you keep smelling this deodorant all day. It's like a Glade Plug In for your body. Once applied, what smelled like a Jolly Rancher in the container suddenly sort of smelled like a cross between a Jolly Rancher and Italian Salami. Good salami, but still. Kind of nauseating if you think about it too much. I thought it about it a lot. Completely Cold Cuts.
I'll get this again but next time I'll go for the powder scent.
This morning I saw a small selection of Flawless at my grocery story so I stopped and smelled all that they had. They all had a bit of the salami smell or if it wasn't salami it was Resolve carpet cleaner. I got SatinyTropical to try. Will it make me crave coconut cream pie with mango sorbet after a salami sandwich?
