One of the things I used to always like about shopping at my home away from home is that the cashiers are always pretty good about telling me what is new and good and what I will want two boxes of. They never make anyone feel like a HIPPO when they are checking out with 6 containers of peanut butter cups. That was until the other day when I got in line with the lasagna I always get for me and Dustin to eat right before we polish off a tub of the peanut butter cups while watching True Blood. As you can see, the container of lasagna is not very big. In fact, the base of the container is smaller than a single serving BOX OF LEAN CUISINE. It's just the right amount of lasagna for two sort of hungry people or one woman with raging PMS. The cashier starts to tell me about his lasagna experience, "It is sooooo much. Way too much for me to eat all of it. I can't eat that much. NO WAY!!! Eating that much gives me a stomach ache. It's too much"
Uh huh. Way to sell the lasagna, Buddy. The cashier was a MAN. And, he was fat. I am not thin and a few years ago I weighed 45 pounds more than I do now. I get what it is like being fat and being thin. I also get what it is like being average. And this average woman wanted to punch that cashier's teeth out. There's just something so annoying about a man implying that any amount of food is too much for me or any woman. It's especially annoying at a place where they sell food. So because I am me, I suggested he go see a doctor right away because it sounds like he has an ulcer! The problem is not the food.
And also because we are us, I think we should have a contest to celebrate glorious lunch!
