I know a lot of people think e-readers are for romance novels or the newest vampire books. I see them as a really cool way to share my art and journals with everyone. I see a wide open space where artists can virtually mingle with writers and share their self-expression equally. The writers can stick to the rules and formats that please them, and the artists and can break those rules. You don't want a Table Of Contents in your photo journal? OK! Anything goes in art. Make art and put it out there. Don't let the "reader" after the "e" trick you.
We'll be making a variety of our art journals available in e-reader formats. The first one out is Stop Barking! A Little Journal About A Big Problem. I suspect you all know what this one is about~
After years of sleepless nights spent listening to her neighbor's barking dogs, artist Linda Woods tried some unconventional methods to get the barking to stop. She captured her efforts with her ever-present camera and sought comfort in her journal. Stop Barking! is a short collection of the photos and journal entries from Linda's experiment.
This little journal contains color photos and I think it looks best on a device that shows color- Nook Color, Nook app for phones or PC, or the Kindle for iPhone or PC. It's a short read, only about 20 pages and is perfect to read on your iPhone while you are having a snack. And, it's priced about the same as a cup of Starbucks coffee- only $2.99. Proceeds will be used to hire a dog whisperer. Stop Barking! for the Nook and Nook apps is here. The Kindle version is here. Nook and Kindle apps are both free!
