to relish

Gogirlax

Today We're FEELIN' GROOVY about:
~Go Girl Sugar Free Energy Drink. I finally found it after a blogger suggested I try it a few months ago. Blogger, you were right! It tastes good and refreshing and not at all like battery acid. I am now officially addicted to it. We all know what that means: it will probably be discontinued soon. Buy it in bulk.
~Orville Redenbacher's 100 calorie packs of microwave Kettle Korn. It's really good and it makes your entire house smell like a carnival.
~Next week I am going to photograph the Salton Sea. I have always wanted to go there, even after seeing that horrible movie with Val Kilmer.
~I'm starting to make a dent in the 5326 emails I need to respond to! YAY! Since I got the iPhone, life got way easier. I can respond to stuff while I am in line at the post office or waiting at places. I love technology. Still, though, I don't look iPhone cool. I don't have a messenger bag.

Our Bêtes Noires:
~
On The Tudors, last season His Majesty called Brandon Brandon and this season he keeps calling him Chaaaaahlz. They are the same person, right?
~It's sinus infection time of year again, so now I get to combine the oh-so-fashionable "baby-doll" maternity wear look with my head-is-going-to-explode expression, creating the strong appearance of pregnancy for all I meet [that is Karen. I just wear black t-shirts and  jeans no matter what the temperature is. This outfit combined with the head about to explode expression works well with being an artist]
~My daughter DID return home from camping and kiss her Hai flat iron before kissing me!
~My husband is home sick today. My husband is sick and Karen's kids are sick. We're locked in our offices blogging with our faces tucked into our shirts so we don't catch any sickness.
~The problem with the iPhone is that whenever I text Karen the word delish, it auto-corrects it to relish. That is a HUGE difference. I need to learn how to fix that.

****ART ALERT: Original art on canvas will be available for purchase soon*****

Charles Brandon was the third son of Sir William Brandon who, as Henry VII's standard bearer, had been killed by Richard III in person at the Battle of Bosworth Field. He was brought up at the court of Henry VII and became a favourite of Henry VIII. He held several posts in the royal household and distinguished himself in the French campaign of 1513. In 1515 he privately married Mary Tudor, Louis XII's (king of France) widow and Henry VIII's sister, to avoid the political difficulties surrounding the marriage — Henry was keen to acquire the gold plate and jewels which Louis had promised Mary before his death and he made it clear he would only sanction Suffolk's marriage to her if he did indeed get them. Wolsey brokered a deal, however and the couple were able to have a public wedding some months later. Suffolk supported Henry's divorce from Katherine of Aragon, in direct opposition to Wolsey, and after the latter's disgrace, his influence increased rapidly to the point where he acted as High Steward at the coronation of Anne Boleyn. He died in 1545, a year after commanding an English army invading France. Through his daughter by Mary, Frances, he was grandfather to Lady Jane Grey who would reign for nine days in 1553.

Oh, the Salton Sea... I remember that place. Ten years ago, the residents were trying to get Congressman Sonny Bono (I still wince at that) to get them some sort of federal relief, because the sea is *dying.* The fish, algae etc. are dying -- which makes it stink when it's warm out. And it's late April; it's probably warm out...

I'd highly recommend taking a painter's mask or some sort of breathing apparatus on your trip. Good luck.

I wanna go to the Salton sea!!! -except--I bet it will be HOT! Once I loved the sun and heat-the more-the higher-the better!
Sadly, menopause rewired my entire thermostat and now when I am in anything above 75 degrees I'm like a frickin pot of boiling water you cant turn off. I Immediately seek air conditioning; then am shot for the entirety of the day. It so sucks
I finally saw "Into The Wild" last month and much of it its shot in The Salton Sea. The cinematography is brilliant!!
Id be up for a "winter photo journey" in the future!
xo

Salton sea! How cool is that! Can't wait to see the pictures! I really must try that drink...it certainly looks pretty! :D

I'm cracking up over Emily's reaction kissing her flat iron BEFORE kissing mom, LOL. I think Dustin and the kids are sick only to show moral support to each other. LOL! :D

isn't the iphone the greatest invention EVER? i practically sleep with mine and my husband gets jealous! it is just great for artists, because you can take pictures and blog and send them to editors in a snap! no pun intended!

Before I'd shell out those kind of bucks for a hair thing, I'd let myself go all Phoebe Snow.

Okay, I give. Why is Karen wearing baby doll maternity wear? Is it a new fashion trend? A fetish?

(Oh, and the phone thing. I don't have an iPhone, but usually in the same place you choose your kind of text (ABC, 123, Symbols), there's an option for auto-complete. Maybe your iPhone is set to that, because that's what recreates your words).
